Simon Rice - CEO
There's not much one can add to their resume when they've been the third player taken in the 1996 NFL Draft, claimed 1996 Defensive Rookie of the year honors, and not to mention Super Bowl XXXVII Champion. When the name of future Hall of Famer Simeon Rice is mentioned much can be said about his on the field accomplishments. But it is Rice's off the field accomplishments that has him excited as ever today. Rice has always been one who thinks outside of the box, utilizing his zest for life and greatness Rice is a modern day renaissance man.
Rice's love for music developed at an early age growing up with the rich heritage of Chicago's southside as his backdrop. Like many of his Chicago contemporaries growing up listening to a variety of music was the norm. Rice developed an eclectic taste that has always allowed him to be uniquely diverse. Rice took on the challenge of starting his own record label in 1996. Juggernaut Entertainment was established and it was no easy ride being the new fish in the pond. Rice and his team took on Tuff Irie as the labels first act. They signed a distribution deal but learned the hard way that it takes much more to run a label. Disgusted with the results Rice shut the label down vowing never to get in the music business again!
But as luck would have it Rice discovered a little known talent right in his own backyard. Enter Chicago's own Yash! Not taking her seriously about her singing ability as Rice explains "I thought she was joking until I heard her do karaoke." "I was blown away." Rice then called friend music manager veteran Michael "Blue" Williams to see if he could guide him in the right direction. Yashi was then thrown in the studio in Atlanta with some heavyweight producers to see if she had the goods. With out a doubt Yash showed up big and it was official that she could sing! Rice reluctantly cautious about getting back in the music business toiled around for a few months.
Knowing that childhood friend Lamon "Big L" Caldwell had a background in music Rice sat down with Caldwell to discuss getting back in the game. Lucid Dream Entertainment Group was formed. Rice vowed to do this one right this time and not have another debacle like in '96. And to much assurance it has not been, because Rice and Caldwell have created a winning team! Bringing the forthrightness and character that have made both respected Champions in athletics. These two are poised to soar to new heights once again!
